Summer Fun Runs

Don’t forget the next JB Tri Summer Fun Run will be held THIS Wednesday, Jan 12th, at 6pm. We’re hoping the weather goods will provide a dry summer evening for a 5km (ish) run, mostly on the cycleway, then well-earned drinks at Jervis Bay Brewery afterwards.

Meet in front of Jervis Bay Brewing Co in the Woollamia Industrial Estate at 6pm. Bring a friend (or 3), run at your own pace or with the main group, and enjoy a summer get-together while the weather is great.

We’ll be holding these runs on the second Wednesday of each month during daylight savings.

Hope to see you there.

JANUARY GROUP TRAINING

Next Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of the month, which means it’s also time for our monthly group training session. With Iluka out of action due to the tourist season, we’ll be holding a swim/run at the main beach at Huskisson this month.

8am start for either a 500m or 1km swim then run to Church Street and back on the cycleway (or shorter if you prefer).

Bring your bike and come early for a 6:30 am ride of the Husky long course loop (just the one lap) or just join us for the swim/run.

Meeting point for both the ride and swim/run is the car park at the northern end of the beach.

  • WHEN: 6:30 or 8am, Sunday January 16.
  • WHERE: Car Park north end Huskisson Beach
  • WHY: Because it will be fun.

Batemans Bay and Interclub

The Prez reckons we still need three more entrants in Batemans Bay Standard distance to try to regain our lead in the Interclub Series. While all JB members who race will earn participation points, the Standard is the performance points race.

We’d encourage our Husky long-coursers to enter  as a warm-up for Big Husky. Some of our Sprint athletes have also agreed to step up the distance on what should be a fun and fast course.

Membership discount

For those who haven’t got around to renewing their membership or joining up, Triathlon Australia is now offering discounted membership rates. There’s still plenty of time to race and enjoy the benefits of membership so click on the link below.
