JB Tri has a world champion!
We are so pumped to report that our little tri club now has its very own world champion! Huge congratulations to Mandy Meredith who won the 70-74 age group in the Worlds Aquabike Championship last Thursday then, apparently having acquired a taste for gold, followed up with a win in the mixed relay championship on Sunday. That is phenomenal Mandy! We’re all really proud of you.
Mandy wasn’t the only JB athlete to come home with some bling. Rod Rose won bronze in the Mixed Relay after competing in Friday’s Sprint. Elisha Bell’s team came 4th in the hotly contested 160-199 age group (that’s their combined ages) missing bronze by just 10 seconds!
Elisha, Sile Crowe and Will Blessing all scored top 20 finishes in the Sprint, Tim O’Connell made the top 20 in the Aquabike, and Cath Secombe and Tim stole the show in the Aquabike with a dramatic drop kiss on the finish line.

Group Training THIS Sunday!
A reminder that the October group tri training session will be at Iluka this Sunday, October 26. With Little Husky just around the corner and the water temperature nudging 20 degrees, there’s no excuse not to come along for some race prep or just a morning of triathlon fun. Usual deal: shorter and longer options or choose your own mix.
We are currently seeking information from Booderee on whether Iluka will be open, but will let you know before then if there’s a slight change in plans. Please register using the link below as this is a requirement of our permit.
WHAT: Triathlon Group Training – short and longer options or just do your own thing. The Club will have members on hand to help if any tri newbies are interested in giving it a go.
WHEN: 8am SHARP, Sunday October 26. Please arrive by 7:45 to register and set up. Juniors training will follow seniors at approximately 9:15. Please be aware that there may be athletes on the road as you enter Iluka.
WHERE: Iluka Car Park in Booderee National Park (change may be advised). Don’t forget you need a pass to enter. We recommend buying a one or two year pass so try can come and go as often as you like.

All welcome!

T100 bike aid station
Thanks to everyone who helped out on the T100 bike aid station on Saturday. It was a great turn up and we operated like a well-oiled machine. It was a great show of club spirit. Some pix on Facebook as well.
