Wollongong

Congratulations to everyone who raced at Wollongong over the weekend. And special congrats to Brooklyn Henry who reaped the rewards of all his hard work by taking the overall win on the Standard distance in a sub 2-hour time. Way to go Brooklyn! We almost took out the double with Haydn Jervis just four seconds behind the (much younger) overall winner in the Sprint. Haydn is certainly making up for time lost to injuries.

Plenty of strong results and age-group bling as well.

Club Champs
We’re hoping the efforts of those members who made it to Wollongong will keep us in top place in the South Coast Interclub Series. But it all depends on what happens at Club Championships in Forster with double points on offer. If you haven’t done so already, please consider registering ASAP as entries are likely to close early based on recent sell-outs. It’s your chance to race for your club and to enjoy a fun weekend away. And yes, there will be drinks and pizza after the race. We get points for every member who participates, as well as performance points for those who make the top 10 in their age group. So even if you’re not race-ready, your presence will count.

Group Training

The April group training session will be held at Iluka THIS Sunday. It’s a chance to enjoy the great autumn weather before winter hits. The water temperature in the Bay has been around 21 degrees so come along, catch-up with other members, and enjoy a swim/bike/run. Usual drill: choice of short or longer course options or mix and match your own. Use it as a hit-out, skill practice, or just a fun training session with some mates.

You MUST register before 4pm on Friday  if you’re planning to attend. This applies to both marshals and participants.

We need FIVE volunteers to help out with traffic marshalling and general duties such as water safety and monitoring the transition/finish area. If you, or a family member or friend can help, please let us know.

Participants are also required to have a Booderee pass. The annual and two-yearly passes are a great deal and will give you an incentive to get along next month!

WHEN: SUNDAY April 18, 8AM START.
WHERE: ILUKA CAR PARK, BOODEREE NATIONAL PARK.

Old Runners

A reminder that you can donate old joggers/runnersto be used for people in the South Nowra Correctional Facility. Just drop them in to the Baptist Opportunity Shop (near Vincentia Coles) marked ‘Prison Fellowship’.
